White Co. officials seize stolen firearms and other items

WHITE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Authorities located thousands of dollars worth of stolen property and a suspect accused of taking it all.

The White County Sheriff's Office, along with The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Central Arkansas Drug Task Force conducted a search of a residence on James Street in the Plainview community.

During the search, police said they were able to locate items that were linked to several thefts and burglaries.

Approximately $11,000 worth of items were found. According to Chief Deputy Phillip Miller, several firearms, electronics, tools, an ATV and a vehicle were some of the stolen items recovered. Police gear was also found: badges that were used during an armed home invasion.

Police arrested James Massey, 37, of Judsonia at the residence. Massey had outstanding warrants for parole violations.

Massey's additional charges include aggravated residential burglary, possession of a firearm by certain persons and theft by receiving, all felony offenses.

He is being held at the White County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.

Police expect other arrest to be made as the investigation continues.
