MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) – A man who tried to use fake cash inseveral stores and local banks was arrested by three different law enforcementagencies.
A news release by Mountain Home police said on February 4, the GassvillePolice Department worked a case at a local store where a man used a fake $20bill. The store owner told police the suspect left before police got there.
Mountain Home police said they were called out to a local bank onFebruary 5 after fake money was deposited. Police noticed the serial number on thefake cash at the bank matched the fake cash used at the Gassville store.
On Monday, Gassville police officers were called out to two otherbusinesses after fake money was used.
Arkansas State Police and Gassville Police were able to identify asuspect from the surveillance video.
Police headed to the suspect's home to interview him. Gassvilleofficers searched the home and found a printer they believed to be used to makethe fake money.
Lonnie Michael Tolliver, 32, was charged with 4 counts of forgeryand criminal possession of a forgery device.
Tolliver was taken to the Baxter County Jail and had his bond setat $100,000.
Mountain Home police said the U.S. Secret Service was notifiedabout the case and is expected to join the other agencies in the investigation.
