Family reveals cause of death for Lubbock toddler killed in accident

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Juvenile detectives have ruled that the death of a Central Lubbock 3-year-old was accidental. 

Police responded to a home in off of 42nd St. and Quaker around 5 p.m. on Saturday.

EMS transported Avery Lee Henri Acuna-Gomez to the hospital where she later died.

Family members tell us she was asphyxiated with a window covering cord.

The family has established a donation page to help pay for funeral expenses. Click here to contribute.

Avery's service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Homes at 2210 Broadway.

The funeral will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at Combest Funeral Home.

The family will be putting her to rest at Peaceful Garden cemetery.
