TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

An apartment in a midtown complex was damaged by fire Monday morning.

According to the Tucson Fire Department, the fire in the 2400 block of North Park Avenue was contained to a single downstairs apartment.

Surrounding apartments were evacuated, but residents of all except the damaged apartment were allowed to return to their apartments after the fire was extinguished.

The displaced resident, who is a student at the University of Arizona, will be housed in another apartment in the complex.

No one was injured in the fire, which investigators say began because of a faulty wire in a water heater shortly after 8 a.m.

An estimate of the damages has not yet been determined.
