Brookland FFA prepares to educate community and raise money for organization

BROOKLAND, AR (KAIT) - The Brookland FFA Chapter is preparing to host its first annual dinner auction.

National FFA Week runs from February 16 to February 22.

To celebrate, students plan to hold a number of events to educate the community about their organization.

Joe Smith is a vocational agriculture teacher at Brookland High School and said all proceeds from the live auction will go back into the chapter to help fund things like Leadership Camps or the national convention.

"FFA gives kids an opportunity to kind of network and get out there and meet other kids from across the country, across the state," said Smith. "They get to share ideas and they're going to build friendships and they're going to build bonds that they'll keep their entire lives."

The live auction will take place February 27.

Smith said you can buy tickets in advance or at the door.
