PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) – The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials introduced plans for a new highway in Greene County.
Tuesday night, the public had the opportunity to view and voice their opinions on plans for the proposed two-lane highway. The road would stretch for five miles, beginning at Highway 412 and 72nd Street intersection to Highway 49.
AHTD officials said the move will enhance safety and improve traffic in the area.
"The traffic will be going around. This is what we call a bypass," said Ruby Jordan, Public Involvement Section Head for AHTD. So the citizens are out, taking a look at the proposed design and commenting on the design."
The event was opened from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
