Report: Batesville plant to close in two months

BATESVILLE, AR  (KAIT) – Less than six months after the announcement of 60 layoffs at Zila, Inc. in Batesville, another 70 people have been told they'll be out of work, according to Arkansas Business.

Arkansas Business reported Friday that Zila Inc. would close its facility in Batesville, moving those jobs to another location. The facility is expected to close in two months.

Zila was purchased by Denmat Holdings LLC, a California based company, earlier this week. The company manufactures dental components.

In August, 2013, Zila announced the layoffs of 60 people in Batesville.

Last year, Zila CEO David Speights said the layoffs were part of the company's restructuring of their business plan.
