Flames break out overnight inside of Richmond home

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Flames broke out inside of the attic of a home on Richmond's north side early Tuesday morning.

Fire crews arrived on scene around 12:45 a.m. in the 2800 block of Edgewood Avenue. When firefighters entered the house, they saw smoke on the second floor of the house. They quickly determined that the fire was coming from the attic, and managed to extinguish it, according to Richmond Fire investigators.

There is no word on if anyone was displaced. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
