    A Lawrence County man is in jail following the stabbing and beating of a woman.

TRUMANN, AR  (KAIT) – A Poinsett County man and woman were charged with crimes in connection to an incident involving a child, according to Trumann Police Lieutenant Lenny Becker.

According to Becker, John Hillis was charged with sexual indecency with a child, while Ashley Hillis was charged with permitting child abuse.

According to Becker, Leslie Faulkner with the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division interviewed a young child. The child told Faulkner that John inappropriately touched himself in front of the child, and showed the child pornography. Ashley was charged for allowing the incidents to happen after the child told her about it.

Ashley Hillis was given a $100,000 bond, while John Hillis was given a $150,000 bond. Both will appear in court March 31st, 2014.
