PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT)--Paragould police are urging motorists to stay off the roads.

According to Chief Todd Stovall, streets and highways "are still very slick."

He tells Region 8 News that city street and Arkansas Transportation and Highway Department employees are working to clear the roads; but, "without help from Mother Nature it may be a slow process."

Overnight tow truck drivers responded to numerous calls of stranded motorists.

As of 9 Monday morning "all tow trucks are out of service" while operators get some sleep to recover from the "very long night," the chief stated.

Stovall is asking people to stay off the roads unless they have an emergency.
