Gamecocks No. 1 in Collegiate Baseball poll

After a weekend where they dispatched the Clemson Tigers in a three-game series sweep, Collegiate Baseball has awarded the Gamecocks with a No. 1 ranking in their latest poll.

Florida State, Cal State Fullerton, LSU, and Virginia round out the top five.

Clemson (6-4, 0-0 ACC), meanwhile, fell 14 spots to No. 30 after the weekend series.

In other college baseball polls, the Gamecocks find themselves No. 3 in the Baseball America poll, and No. 4 in the Perfect Game poll.

The Gamecocks (10-0, 0-0 SEC) have started strong this season with an undefeated record, their strongest start since 2005 when they also began that season with 10 straight wins without a loss.

South Carolina plays Stetson University for a two-game series at home starting Tuesday.
