JONESBORO, Ark. (AStateRedWolves.com) – The quest to capture the 2014 NCAA 6th Fan contest title continues for Arkansas State University as the Red Wolves are one of four remaining schools nationally in contention for the top honor and the accompanying $100,000 grand prize.
The Red Wolves advanced to the Final Four bracket through the overwhelming support of its fans and are presently going up against Western Illinois University. The other Final Four matchup features Brigham Young University versus the University of Texas-Pan American.
A-State fans are encouraged to continue showing their Pack Pride and continue voting daily for the Red Wolves online at NCAA 6th Fan, through Facebook or via Twitter by using hashtags #6thFan and #ArkSt in tweets. Voting results are updated every 20 minutes.
Voting for the Final Four concludes this Sunday (March 9) at 11:59.59 p.m. (CT) with the two finalists advancing to the contest's Championship. Those A-State fans who connect their Facebook to the NCAA's 6th Fan website at www.ncaa.com/6thFan to vote can also register for an opportunity to win prizes.
As a result of advancing to the Final Four, A-State earned an extra $10,000 towards its general scholarship fund through a generous donation by the ASU Alumni Association. A-State topped Bryant University in Elite Eight voting as the Red Wolves received 68 percent of the votes to Bryant's 32 percent.
The top vote getter among the two finalists of the 6th Fan contest will be announced March 16 on Selection Sunday and receive a $100,000 contribution to its school's general scholarship fund.
