Names released in Monday night shooting in Paragould

PARAGOULD,AR (KAIT) - Paragould police have arrested one person after they received acall of shots fired.

According to Paragould police, the incident happened Monday justafter 10 p.m. The department was responding to a 911 call of shots fired near5714 Westbrook Drive.

OnWednesday, police said Alex Wells of Paragould was shot in the upper torso.

Theaffidavit by the Greene County District Court said Wells was taken to ArkansasMethodist Medical Center. The district court also said Ivey Herren, 22, wasarrested Tuesday and charged with first degree battery.

Theaffidavit shows Herren "made incriminating statements" about what happenedduring the incident.

Westill do not know what led to the incident or how severe Wells' condition is.

Herrenhad his bond set at $225,000. Court documents show Herren bonded out of theGreene County Jail.
