Names released in Monday night shooting in Paragould

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Paragould police have arrested one person after they received a call of shots fired.

According to Paragould police, the incident happened Monday just after 10 p.m. The department was responding to a 911 call of shots fired near 5714 Westbrook Drive.

On Wednesday, police said Alex Wells of Paragould was shot in the upper torso.

The affidavit by the Greene County District Court said Wells was taken to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. The district court also said Ivey Herren, 22, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first degree battery.

The affidavit shows Herren "made incriminating statements" about what happened during the incident.

We still do not know what led to the incident or how severe Wells' condition is.

Herren had his bond set at $225,000. Court documents show Herren bonded out of the Greene County Jail.
