Jordan Layrock in final vote for NAIA Dunk Contest

BATESVILLE, Ark. ( – Lyon College senior Jordan Layrock has an opportunity to represent his institution and the American Midwest Conference at the 2014 NABC-NAIA Men's Basketball Slam Dunk Contest, which is presented by Rawlings and will take place at the NAIA All-Star event on March 22 in Kansas City.

Potential contestants, including Layrock and three other athletes, were nominated by Division I and Division II NAIA head basketball coaches and then the All-Star Selection Committee narrowed the nominees to four.

Layrock, a 6-6 post player from Paragould, Ark., is joined in the final voting by Bluefield College's (Mid-South Conference) Alex Lubsey, Texas Wesleyan University's (Sooner Athletic Conference) Deonte Jones and Louisiana State University at Shreveport's (Red River Athletic Conference) Will Nelson.

Fans can view highlights of the four players at the following link and cast their vote up to once per day through March 10. There will be four contestants at the NAIA National Slam Dunk Contest, the fourth of which will be decided by the vote between the four players mentioned above. Contestants will be announced on March 11.
