Train hits semi trailer in Walnut Ridge, no injuries

WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - A train was involved in an early morning crash at a Walnut Ridge railroad crossing. 

According to Lawrence County OEM Director Buddy Williams, the crash happened around 3:41 a.m. Wednesday. Williams said a semi was stopped at a traffic light on Main Street when a train hit the trailer that was blocking the railroad.

No injuries were reported in the crash, but a parked van did receive damage as the trailer was pushed by the train.

No fuel was spilled and the truck was not carrying hazardous materials.

Traffic was delayed until about 7 a.m.
