MONETTE, AR (KAIT)-  A tractor-trailer exploded around 10:30 p.m. Saturday near the Monette City Hall.

Monette Police Officer Kevin Bond said after he got the call at 10:36 p.m., he heard one explosion on his way to the scene. When Monette Police and Fire Department crews arrived, a tractor-trailer was already engulfed in flames. As officers were working the scene, a second explosion happened on the tractor-trailer.

Bond said the 18-wheeler belonged to Adams Trucking out of Piggott, which was parked in Monette for the night. Police and firefighters determined that both fuel tanks exploded, but the cause of the explosions is still under investigation.

The 18-wheeler was destroyed and no one was injured.
