Illinois Company Breaks Ground on $33 Million Project in West Memphis

OCTOBER 28, 2004 - Posted at 11:41 a.m. CDT

WEST MEMPHIS, AR - The Infinity Group, based in Mokena, Illinois, announced plans this morning to build two distribution centers on an 85-acre site in West Memphis.  The company will invest $33 million in the two 600,000-square-foot buildings, where a total of 500 people will be employed.

The first building is to be in operation by mid-2005, while the second building will open later in the same year.

The Infinity Group has been in the intermodal and transportation industry for the past 14 years, offering container shipping, storage and repair services in 22 locations as well as providing audit and management services throughout the country.

Infinity's new distribution centers will join a transportation center the company built in West Memphis in 2001, adjacent to the Union Pacific Intermodal Railport.  Company officials also say they have purchased more land in the area and plan additional expansions "within the next few years."
