Posted: Updated:
INDIAN TRAIL, NC (WBTV) -

After 1 season at Porter Ridge, Greg Neuendorf has stepped down as head football coach.

Neuendorf is heading home to Ohio to take over as head football coach at Ottawa Hills High School in Toledo.  Coach still has family living there which made this an opportunity he just couldn't pass up.

At Porter Ridge, Neuendorf went 8-5 and took the Pirates to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Before he went to Porter Ridge, Neuendorf started the football program at Cox Mill and went 22-25.  After a 1-10 season in year one with the Chargers, he would get the team to the playoffs in each of the next 3 seasons.  2011 was the best season for the Chargers when they went 8-4.

Neuendorf replaces long time coach Chris Hardman at Ottawa Hills.  Hardman spent 37 years with the Green Bears.  The last 16 as the head football coach.
