NEW ORLEANS (SunBeltSports.org) - Arkansas State's Aundrea Gamble headlines the 2014 All-Sun Belt Women's Basketball teams as she was tabbed Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

The 2014 Sun Belt All-Conference Teams were selected by a vote of the league's ten head coaches and a 10-member media panel.

Gamble has been nothing short of spectacular in her first season at Arkansas State. A three-time SBC Player of the Week, Gamble began the 2014 season with a double-double and has not slowed since. She has scored in double digits in all but three games this season, ranking second in the league in scoring at 18.7 points per game.

Gamble also ranks second in the league in assists (4.2 per game) and third in steals (2.2 per game) while ranking in the top ten in rebounding and field-goal percentage.

Gamble was one of two Red Wolves named All-Sun Belt this year as senior forward Jane Morrill, the conference's active career leader in scoring, was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team. The duo led the Red Wolves this season on the offensive end combining to average 31.6 points per game for 2010 A-State which claimed the regular season crown.

Joining Gamble on the First Team were UALR's Taylor Gault, WKU's Chastity Gooch, Troy's Joanna Harden and UL Monroe's Ashleigh Simmons.

Gooch, a junior, was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. She led the league in rebounding averaging 8.8 boards per game and was third in scoring at 17.9 per game.

Additionally, Gooch led the league in blocked shots for the second consecutive season with 1.4 blocks per game. Gooch was joined on the All-Sun Belt team by freshman guard Kendall Noble and sophomore guard Micah Jones.

Noble, the 2014 SBC Freshman of the Year, was named to the Second Team while Jones was selected to the Third Team. Noble was instrumental down the stretch for the Lady Toppers as she filled in for injured Alexis Govan. A highly versatile freshman, Noble was one of just two freshman in the nation to average at least 10.0 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game and 3.0 assists in conference play.

UALR's Gault was fourth in the league in scoring (15.1 points per game) for the 17-11 Trojans. Gault's teammate, Taylor Ford, was named to the Third Team.

Troy's Harden led the SBC in scoring this season and ranks fifth in the NCAA at 25.7 points per game and is just the sixth player in SBC history to average 25-plus points. The senior has already broken Trojan records for points in a season, scoring average in a season, free throws made in a season and points in a two-year career.

In November Harden broke a Troy and Sun Belt  record by scoring 52 points in a win over Alabama-Huntsville and has scored 30-plus points seven times this season and 20-plus in 23 games. Harden's teammate, Ashley Beverly-Kelley was named to the Second Team.

Simmons has recorded eight double-doubles on the year, tied for second in the league, while ranking fifth in scoring at 15.0 points per game.

A-State's Brian Boyer picked up Coach of the Year honors after leading the Red Wolves to 20 wins on the season and a 14-4 conference record. The 14-win conference season is the most ever by a Red Wolves team in Sun Belt action.

With 137 career Sun Belt wins, Boyer is the all-time leader in victories surpassing the previous record of 135 held by former Sun Belt coaches Leon Barmore and Cindy Russo.

The Red Wolves enter this week's tournament seeking their first Sun Belt tournament title.

The Sun Belt Women's Basketball Championship begins Wednesday, March 12 in New Orleans, La.  The championship game will be contested Saturday, March 15 at 8 p.m. (CT) on ESPN3.
