JONESBORO, AR--(KAIT) Nominations are now being accepted for a breast cancer survivor who will be honored at the 2014 Arkansas Ride for the Cure.
The survivor chosen should be willing to use the honor to help raise awareness of breast cancer. She may be featured in promotional material and events leading up to the race, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 26. She also will play a role in the opening ceremonies for the ride.
The ride serves a dual purpose. It gives cycling enthusiasts an opportunity to join in a fun recreational ride while increasing the awareness of breast cancer. The ride supports the Arkansas Affiliate Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The honoree should be nominated by a family member or close friend who is actively involved in the sport of cycling.
Past honorees have included Dianna Shatley, Vickey Perry Walden, Betsy Barrett, Heath Rohlfing, and Paula Pickens.
