Car crashes through oriental market storefront in D'Iberville

D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

An oriental market in D'Iberville got some unexpected attention Sunday when a car drove through the store front shortly after 12 p.m.

Captain Clay Jones, with the D'Iberville Police Department, confirmed to WLOX News that a 64-year-old man drove his car into the front of Saigon Oriental Food Market on Central Avenue.

Jones said the driver thought the car was in reverse, but it was actually in drive. When the man hit the gas, the car accelerated and drove straight through the front of the store.

Jones said there were no injuries in the accident, and the building suffered only minor structural damage.

Despite the damage, the store is still open for business.
