AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

The Auburn Police Division has arrested 19-year-old Marcus K. Woody and 20-year-old Najee C. Brooks, both of Auburn, on felony warrants for assault second degree.

Auburn Police responded to a shots fired call at a residence in the 600 block of Byrd Street at approximately 4:43 p.m. Monday March 17. Once officers arrived on the scene they located a 23-year-old male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.

Police were given a description of two suspects and a vehicle that they were seen leaving the area driving.

Within minutes officers located the vehicle, occupied by Woody and Brooks at a residence near Foster Street and Holmes Avenue. After a preliminary investigation by police, both suspects were identified as being the individuals responsible for the shooting and fleeing the scene and were taken into custody.

The victim was transported to the EAMC Emergency room by ambulance for treatment of a gunshot wound and was later released.
