Deputies: Walhalla woman charged with stealing guns, camera, diamond ring

WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Walhalla woman has been charged after Oconee County deputies said she stole over 20 guns and other property from area homes.

Lt. Jimmy Watt said 32-year-old April Michelle Norton is accused of breaking into a home on Corley Road in the Walhalla area and stealing guns and a laptop on Jan. 28.

The victim reported 20 or more guns were stolen from the home.

According to warrants, on March 14, Norton is also accused of stealing a diamond ring, a video camera, a SIM card and a check book from a home on Wades Drive near Walhalla.

Warrants said the items were valued at more than $10,000.

Deputies charged Norton with two counts of grand larceny and one count of first degree burglary in connection with the incidents.

Norton is being held on a $70,000 surety bond.
