Skinner reflects on Lady Rams' tourney run

Posted: Updated:

Head Coach Robert Skinner is proud of the Lady Rams 2013-14 season. Their run came to an end on Saturday against Nova Southeastern.

"I really believe that losing to a team of that caliber," Skinner said. "It makes you examine what you were doing and  it will give you the opportunity, you have a long period of time now and a good opportunity to find some solutions to what happened."

The team will lose Kourtney Alexander but returns two of its other leading scorers, Tip Holston and Keidra Green. Overall, three starters will return to the team.

Before dropping the contest to Nova Southeastern, the Rams downed Delta State. Skinner says that win is important moving forward.

"Anytime you can go beyond the conference tournament and go and play in the postseason, it means a lot to the institution," Skinner said. "It means a lot to the kids, so we really feel like we did something special this year."

A-S-U finishes the season 22-7.
