LEPANTO, AR (KAIT)—  Last week Miranda Huffman did something she has never done before.

She bought a Mega Millions lottery ticket at Jordan's Kwik Stop #14, 130 Highway 135 North in Lepanto.

Friday night the numbers were drawn.

According to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, she missed winning the $353 million jackpot by just one number.

The prize for matching all five white balls is $1 million. Because she had purchased the $1 Megaplier option, Huffman tripled her winnings.

On Tuesday she and her husband, Jeff, traveled to Little Rock to collect her $3 million dollar prize.

Huffman says she plans to use the money to build a house.

Because no one won last Friday, the jackpot for Tuesday night's drawing is $400 million.

Folks in town have been eager to try their chance at luck, ever since word got out that a Lepanto resident won.

"We have been selling them like crazy today and last night," said Jordan's Kwik Stop employee Shanna Roach.

Local buyers are hoping the next winner could be them.

"I couldn't explain to you it's real big," said Jordan's Kwik Stop Manager Johnny Eubanks. "It's real big for this little town."

Huffman's sister, Melissa Barnes said it's been crazy every since people found out her sister was the Mega Millions winner.

"Every time I turn around someone is like your sister won," said Barnes.
