HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

The search continued Tuesday in Hancock County for a missing Louisiana man. Authorities say 29-year-old Bryan Hulse of Houma, Louisiana was reported missing by his family Sunday. He was last seen near the north gate at Stennis Space Center.

"He attempted to proceed through it, and he didn't have the clearance, so they turned him back," Chief Deputy Don Bass explained. "And that was Sunday evening around 6:15pm."

Monday morning, authorities found Hulse's car in a wooded area about a half mile north of the gate on Highway 607, across the street from the Turtle Skin Cemetery in the Santa Rosa community.

"The vehicle's door was opened, personal items were in the vehicle," Bass said. "We don't suspect foul play was involved; we just suspect he's lost in this area within all of this acreage. I think it's approximately 45 square miles between Stennis and the buffer zone here."

Tuesday, Hancock County Sheriff's deputies searched NASA's buffer zone from the air, on the ground with dogs, and on horseback.

"And, of course, our deputies are on four wheelers, ATV vehicles, and on foot."

What brought Bryan Hulse to Hancock County remains a mystery. Authorities are concerned he may not be wearing enough clothing for the recent cold temperatures.

"We found some clothing items, shirt and some shorts, his ID, car keys. So it gives us an indication that at that point he was alive and well and moving about the area. We feel that maybe there is a medical problem involved, we're not sure. But we are out here to rescue him and bring him back," Bass said.

Debra Wodcock with Gulf Coast Search & Rescue said. "We found footprints and we also found areas that were not feasible for a person to go to, which allowed them to go to higher priority areas."

Anyone with information about Hulse is asked to contact the Hancock County Sheriff's Department at (228) 255-9191.
