18 Southwood HS seniors suspended, accused of hacking grades

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A group of Southwood High School seniors has been suspended and could be expelled, accused of electronically altering their grades online.

Caddo Parish Schools spokesperson Victor Mainiero says administrators at Southwood determined on March 14 that 18 seniors accessed the 'E 20/20' platform, an online course study system, and manipulated their grades.

"How they did that is part of the investigation," Mainiero said.

Some of the 18 students have already been suspended, and the punishment they face depends on the findings of the investigation.

"It could be anything from a student having to repeat a particular program course to actual suspension, pending an expulsion hearing," Mainiero said.

If a student is expelled they would have to attend an alternative school.
