SWIFTON, AR (KAIT) - Sexual assault is a crime that often goes unreported and in many cases, leaves the victim feeling at fault.
On Friday evening, women attended a Rape Aggression Defense class at Swifton Community Center to learn how to keep themselves safe and protected from attackers.
"One in three women reports rape on a daily basis, but that number is higher than that because there are some women or young ladies that go without reporting rape or assault," said Cpl. Traci Simpson of Arkansas State University Police Department.
The class continued on Saturday from 8 a.m. To 6 p.m. where the women learned hands-on defensive techniques. The RAD event was free-event for women only.
