JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Farmers from around Region 8 got some help figuring out new provisions under the 2014 Farm Bill on Friday.
The Arkansas Rice Federation and USA Rice held a briefing at the Fowler Center on Arkansas State's campus.
Reece Langley is the Vice President of Government Affairs and said the goal of the seminar was to help them understand changes to the bill that could affect the bottom line for these farmers.
"The Farm Bill as you know is reauthorized by congress every five years," said Langley. "This Farm Bill makes significant changes in the policies that farmers and landowners will be impacted by for at least the next five years, the life of this farm bill."
The Farm Bill was passed by the Congress and signed by President Barack Obama last month.
