Crews work accident with overturned vehicle, woman found trapped

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR(KAIT) – Rescue crews were called out to the scene of an accident in CraigheadCounty on Wednesday night.

According to Craighead County Deputy BrianSkinner, deputies were called out to CraigheadCounty Road 766 at 10:50 p.m.

Deputy Skinner says the car was heading eastbound when itran off the road and flipped in a power line right-a-way.

Crews worked for half an hour to get the victim out of thecar and into an ambulance.

"Jonesboro Fire Department along with the PhiladelphiaVolunteer fire department removed the occupant and was transported to thehospital," said Deputy Skinner. "Her condition is unknown at this time."

Both westbound and eastbound lanes were shut down while theyrescued the woman.

Deputy Skinner said they are investigating the cause of theaccident.

"We'll talk to her and figure out why she left the roadway.Right now all that has been undetermined."

The Craighead County Sheriff's Office could not release thename of the woman. Region 8 News does not know how long the woman was trappedin her car.
