Last Minute Tips for Election Day 2004

November 2, 2004--Posted at 7:42 p.m. CST

Jonesboro, AR-- After months of political ads and debates, election day 2004 is upon us. If you didn't vote early be prepared to wait in line to cast your vote tomorrow.

According Craighead County Clerk Nancy Nelms, voters should expect to wait at least an hour to cast their vote on election day. Every poll in Arkansas will open at 7:30 a.m and close at 7:30 p.m. Anyone who is not in line by 7:30 p.m. will not be allowed to vote.

An election day dress code will be in effect. If you're within 100 feet of a polling precinct, you can not wear any kind of political paraphernalia. If you do, you'll be asked to put on a jacket, or turn your shirt inside out. But, before you even get that far, make sure you show up at your assigned precinct. You can't just vote anywhere. If you don't remember where to go call your county clerks office. Don't forget to bring identification, a little patience and a smile.
