Franklin D. Roosevelt's grandson visits ASU

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Gubernatorial candidates were on the campaign trail on Monday.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt's grandson, Delano Roosevelt, made a stop at Arkansas State University.

He was there to support Republican gubernatorial candidate Curtis Coleman. Roosevelt said he wants to encourage people to think about the person, not the party.

"You have to take a hard look at your country, at your state and look at the municipality and make decisions on who you're going to support," said Roosevelt. "I think now more than ever, based on the individual and not party line.  You can see where party lines have gotten us inside the beltway in Washington D. C.  and frankly it's a mess."

This was Roosevelt's first speaking event in Arkansas.
