Woman formerly from Henderson shot and killed

RUSSELLVILLE, KY (WFIE) -

A woman, formerly from Henderson, was allegedly shot and killed by her ex-husband before he turned the gun on himself.

Russellville Police says Kenneth Temple fired the shot that killed 34-year-old Melissa Green.

It happened at Logan Heights Apartment Complex Wednesday afternoon.

A witness told police that Temple smiled, walked past her, and approached Green and her boyfriend.. who were sitting in a car.

"He grabbed her, threw her down, and I heard another pop.  And I said oh my god.  He shot her and he put the gun to his head and shot himself and it was over," said Marina Wilson, witness.

Officers say Temple shot Green in the back of the head and then shot himself.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
