FOP in Owensboro seeking donations to fund Christmas program for children

Posted: Updated:
OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

The Fraternal Order of Police in Owensboro is gearing up for another year of helping children, but need public support.

They're accepting donations to fund their Christmas program.

That's the program where they help kids shop for Christmas gifts and back to school supplies.

Officials say in the past the donations have helped thousands of local kids.

"I've been doing this a number of years now and it's fantastic, says Fraternal Order representative Jeff Payne. "The joy you see in the kid's eyes. The joy in their smiles. A lot of the times we're helping a child who may not get help otherwise."

The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 16 says you can donate on their website or by calling them over the phone.
