Officers search for man suspected of robbing hotel at knife point

SEARCY, AR (KAIT) – Searcy police tell Region 8 News they are searching for a man suspected of robbing a hotel Friday night.

According to the Searcy Police Department, officers were called out to the America's Best Value Inn on Rand Drive at around 9 p.m., in reference to an armed robbery.

Officers said the man went behind the clerk's desk and demanded money from the clerk at knife point. After the clerk opened the drawer, the suspect made her go into the bathroom and was told to stay there until he left.

The man is described as a black man with a bald head, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 inches tall, weighing about 160 to 180 pounds, and is about 20 years old.

The surveillance video shows the suspect was wearing a purple or blue hoodie with light colored symbols and white bandana.

Searcy police want anyone with information about this incident to call their Criminal Investigation Division at (501)268-3531.
