JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The heavy rain took a toll on several areas and neighborhoods in the Jackson metro and surrounding area on Sunday.

Emergency managers from the Warren County area reported a broken dam in the area of Silver Creek, which is off of Warriors Trail, just south of I-20.

One photo below shows a Warren County Sheriff's vehicle that is blocking the roadway of Warriors Trail.

According to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, no homes are in danger of the dam that was broken.

Warriors Trail is in the Bovina area of Warren County.

Several mudslides were also reported in the area.

The dam sits on private property.

Byram residents in the Robinson Estates also experienced a great deal of flooding.

Residents had to park their vehicles ar the entrance of the subdivision because they can't get through.

"It's always done that anytime we get a hard fast heavy rain it will flood like this the week before last with the street flooded and I got stuck in the house I couldn't go to work about 2 hours late to work and the kids were late to school because the buses couldn't get through," said resident Candace Stasher.

Some people said they have to walk at least a mile to get to their homes.
