Three year old gets to throw opening pitch at upcoming Cards/Cubs game

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)-  A Region 8 three year old is getting his biggest wish granted.

Make-A-Wish and the Chi Omega sorority at Arkansas State University granted Elijah's wish to throw out the opening pitch at a Cardinals game against the Chicago Cubs.

Elijah was surprised by family, friends, the ladies of Chi Omega, members of the ASU baseball team and Howl at the Jonesboro Radio Group Tuesday evening.

He received many gifts to prepare him for his big trip including Cardinals gear, a helmet, a new glove and more.

Chi Omega Philanthropy Chair, Mallory Perry said, "In Elijah's case, we got to see what he really wanted. Just to be able to do a chance like that for his is so rewarding. Words can't even explain."

The best part about the wish? Elijah's favorite player, Yadier Molina, will be behind the plate to catch his pitch.
