WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - Bikers rode around Region 8 Saturday afternoon in memory of a fellow community member.
Rumblin' Around the Ridge hosted its first Sidney Randall Memorial Scholarship ride, an event the organizers said they hope to make an annual one.
Every part of the event kept Sidney in mind. Participants wore t-shirts and patches with her name on them. The bikers even took the same route as they did for her funeral.
One participant said he has been involved in keeping Sidney's memory alive since the tragedy happened.
"Become pretty close with them," Rumblin' Around the Ridge president Jeremy McLaughlin said. "We decided to come up with the Sidney Randall Scholarship to maybe help a high school student go to college, where they wouldn't get to in any other circumstance."
The ride ended with food, a drawing and live music.
The group raised $575 in total Saturday.
Rumblin' Around the Ridge is still accepting donations and selling t-shirts. If you would like to contribute, message the group on its Facebook page.
