Man charged with negligent homicide in April dispute

MONETTE, AR (KAIT) -

A Monette man was charged with misdemeanor negligent homicide in the April death of Sandra Platz, 43, of Monette, according to the Craighead County Prosecutor's Office.

According to prosecutors, William Kenneth Sevor, 45, of Monette was charged Thursday. He was ordered to appear in court in January, 2015.

Investigators with theCraighead County Sheriff's Office looked at circumstances surrounding thedeath of Platz, who got in the middle of a domestic dispute between Sevor andhis wife, according to Craighead County Chief Deputy Rick Thomas.

According toan incident report, Platz was killed when she wasrun over by a truck as Sevor tried to leave.

According tothe report, William told officers that Platz was hitting his window as he wasleaving a home in Monette. William told police he did not run over Platz.

William was then taken to the Craighead County Sheriff's Office for questioning. Platz was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thomas said William was interviewed by detectives and the investigative file was turned over to prosecutors.
