JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- With rain in the forecast for at least two more days, one Jonesboro resident is worried about a flooded road and yard.
The continuous downpour leaves a high level of water right in front of John Feeherty's home on Medallion.
"It's just floods half way into my yard and I have to rake and clean it up every time and so do my neighbors," he said.
It's been a long time coming for Feeherty and his neighbors.
"We've had these low spots and the water flooding into our yard and this area for about 6 to 7 years,"he said. "They've tried two different fixes for it, one they cut a gully in the road but it was too steep for the cars and it would break their bumpers and stuff."
The city also put in a drain but Feeherty said it was too small.
"It won't drain into these other ditches to take it on down the road," Feeherty said.
And when there's a lot of rain in the forecast, he even has to clean out the drain.
"We got out there sometimes while it's raining, some of the neighbors do and we'll take a ho and try to keep it cleaned out because the water will drain if it can get to this ditch," he said. "Everybody's car goes by there and it gets soak and wet and the neighbors yard, about 3 or 4 yards here, it runs into their yard."
Feeherty said he reached out to city engineers regarding their flood problems, but it has been a few years.
"It's just not a good drainage there, it needs to be addressed with a new drain or something done to it," he said. "It is that bad, it gets 3 to 4 inches deep and 15 to 20 inches wide so it's aggravating to everybody, it really is."
