A Better Region 8: Helping fellow Arkansans

Sunday night was a tragic reminder that spring severe weather season is in full swing here in Region 8.

In central Arkansas, people lost their lives, their property, and they need our help.  While we all want to jump in the car and help them dig out, the best thing we can do is give a monetary donation.

We're partnering with the Jonesboro Radio Group and The American Red Cross to give you a way to help. Log on to kait8.com and donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund and designate your donation to the Arkansas tornadoes.

Here in Region 8 we're known for our compassion, so let's help our fellow Arkansans out. And we're still in tornado season. I encourage you to make absolutely sure you and your family are prepared: Find your safe spot in your home, school or business, make sure you have your phone ready to receive warnings with our weather app, test your weather radio to make sure it's working properly, and if it's not, call us, and we'll help you out, plus make sure you're communicating with your neighbors, friends and family members, especially the elderly.

Let's get the word out on how to help victims from Sunday night's storms and take the steps to make sure we're all prepared, because unfortunately there will be another tornado.

Stay safe and make this a better Region 8.
