Meth and pills found in Paragould man's vehicle

SHARP COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Paragould man was arrested in Sharp County on drug related charges. 

According to Sheriff Mark Counts, dispatched received a call regarding a "reckless driver" headed towards Hardy on Highway 63. A Sharp County deputy trailed the vehicle and saw the driver cross over the yellow and white lines several times. 

The deputy pulled over the driver, Ricky Nelson, 60. Nelson was driving under a suspended license and was placed into custody.
 
During a search of the vehicle, deputies found a plastic bag of a crystal-like substance that was suspected to be methamphetamine. Pink and white pills and a set of digital scales were also found. 

Nelson was taken to the Sharp County Jail and is awaiting formal charges on possession of a controlled Substance, possession of an instrument of crime, and careless and prohibited driving.
