SENATH, MO (DDDNews.com) - Lucas Nutt has experience and a basketball pedigree that goes much deeper than his youth.
That is one reason why Nutt recently was tabbed as the new high school boys basketball coach at Senath-Hornersville for next season.
While Nutt is young -- he is 23 and will graduate from Southeast Missouri State University next month -- his experience goes much deeper. For starters, Nutt is the son of Southeast Missouri State basketball coach Dickie Nutt and has played point guard for the Redhawks under his father the last four years.
"I grew up around it my whole life -- all we knew is ball," Lucas Nutt said. "That's all I've been around all my life. It's what I love. I do it for the kids. I felt high school is where I wanted to be. I'm just fired up to be able to be a head coach and a P.E. Teacher."
