BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Two men were arrested Thursday morning after Baxter County deputies served warrants.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, on April 22 were called to a home on Costner Lane, during a probation visit for Bobby Don Morris, 50.

Once they arrived, they found a scooter worth more than $1,900 and reported stolen in February.

A warrant was issued for his arrest on Tuesday.

When deputies arrived at Morris' home Thursday, Scott Alan Vest, 35, told them Morris was not home. Deputies saw that Morris was at home and also found Vest had warrants for failure to appear in court.

Sheriff Montgomery said deputies found about two grams of methamphetamine while searching Vest.

They were both taken to the Baxter County Detention Center.

Morris was charged with a felony for theft by receiving and parole violation. His bond was set at $5,000 and had a hold placed for his parole violation.

Vest was charged with a felony for possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor for obstructing governmental operations, and a misdemeanor for failure to appear. He was released from jail after posting $5,570 bond.

Sheriff Montgomery said Vest and Morris are scheduled to appear at the Baxter County Circuit Court on May 8.
