Faulty fuel gauge prompts SUV recall

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

General Motors has announced another recall involving three 2014 SUV models.

GM said faulty software may cause the fuel gauge to be off by as much as a quarter tank.

The vehicles involved include the 2014 Buick Enclave, the Chevy Traverse and the GMC Acadia.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said an inaccurate fuel gauge could lead to a vehicle unexpectedly running out of gas or stalling, increasing the risk of a crash.

In all, GM has recalled about seven million vehicles this year.
