Early voting begins

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- Early voting kicked off Monday morning at 8 a.m. and Region 8 residents headed to the polls.

Dennis Hill, an earlier voter, said he always tries to get in and vote early.

"It's always better to vote early if you can because there's no crowds.  It goes smoothly and you don't have any back up," Hill said.

Voting begins days after a Pulaski County judge ruled that a new law requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls was unconstitutional, but said he wouldn't block the state from enforcing the law during the primary.

The polls are open until 6 Monday thru Friday and 10 to 4 on Saturday.

The May Primary is set for May 20th.
