Hardy man arrested for breaking into grocery store

HARDY, AR  (KAIT) – Hardy police arrested a man for felony commercial burglary after he was caught inside Price Chopper after store hours on Highway 62 in Sharp County, according to an incident report.

Phillip Michael Walker, 28, of Hardy was arrested for breaking into the grocery store on May 4.

According to the report, a store employee and a police officer were searching the store when they heard someone yelling from the back. The report stated a man, later identified as Walker, fell when the alarm "spooked" him as he tried to break into the surveillance room, causing him to scramble into a ventilation system. Walker lost his footing and fell to the ground. Walker also sustained serious injuries.

The police report stated Walker caused nearly $5,000 in damage to the building.
