Summer classes available through Lufkin Parks & Rec

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

We're only one month away from the start of summer and if you don't have anything planned, look no further because Lufkin Parks and Recreation has an agenda full of summertime fun for the whole family.

From cheerleading camps to Tae Kwon Do lessons, there is something for everyone.

Here is a list of those activities.

Camps:

Cheerleading

Classes (Monthly & Summer Only):

Zumba Kid's Jr. & Zumba Kids

Tae Kwon Do

Tennis Lessons

Art & Drawing

The Art of Survival

Mommy & Me Babynastics

Gymnastics (beginners, intermediate, advanced)

Ballet, Tap & Jazz

Drill Team Prep

Cheerleading

Lufkin Parks and Recreation Specialist, Sue Ann Pierce said it's a great way for kids to enjoy their summer while parents get a few hours to themselves.

"I just hope that it helps keep the kids active through the summer, and you know if the parents don't work ,it's an hour for them to go and have something to do or, you know. have a little mom and husband time," Pierce said.

Summer session 1 registration started Monday and will continue until May 23rd.

Those classes run May 27- July 3

Summer session 2 registration starts June 23rd and goes until July 3rd

Those classes run July 7 through August 15th.
