Recovery center opening in Pocahontas Saturday

POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) – A Disaster Recovery Center is opening this weekend for those who need assistance after the recent storms.

The center will be open from nine a.m. to seven p.m. on Saturday at 300 Geneva Drive in Pocahontas. On Sunday, the center will be open from one p.m. to seven p.m.

Those needing assistance will be able to meet with specialists from the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Internal Revenue Service, the American Red Cross along with other agencies and groups.

If you cannot make it to the center, you can still register online at www.disasterassistance.gov or m.fema.gov using a smartphone. You can also call 1-800-621-3362 or 1-800-462-7585 for assistance.
